LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A bill that will help military families transition from or to Arkansas schools received the go ahead.
Senator Joyce Elliot, D-Little Rock, said the bill means Arkansas will join an interstate network where education records are easy to get to and entrance requirements are catered for the military students.
"If you move from Arkansas to Wyoming or to Georgia, Military families will have options that are responsive to their needs as opposed to make them fit in to whatever every structure is of every state," said Elliot
This bill will now go before the full Senate for a vote. Thursday, both the House and Senate will briefly meet in the morning and then adjourn.
House Speaker, Davy Carter said they are giving members time to go home to their constituents as bills begin to funnel in.
