FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - A Faulkner County deputy and a suspect were treated at a local hospital for hypothermia.

According to Chief Deputy Matt Rice, Deputy Jonathan Parks and Ricky Rashad McClure, 21, were both taken to a hospital for treatment after they collapsed on a river bank.

Rice said Parks had pulled over a vehicle that McClure was in because McClure was wanted on a parole revocation order, and McClure ran away into a nearby reservoir when Parks tried to arrest him.

Rice went on to say that the two wrestled in the water for 5 to 8 minutes before Parks was able to handcuff McClure, but at that point McClure wasn't able to get out of the water with his own strength, so Parks carried McClure over his shoulder to the bank and collapsed himself.

Both were released around 8 p.m., Rice said.

McClure will be charged with fleeing and probation revocation.
