JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Federal Trade Commission officials say they've warned 11 used car dealerships in northeast Arkansas that their sales practices violate a commission rule about displaying buyer's guides.
The FTC said in a news release Friday that the commission's used car rule requires used car dealers to display a buyer's guide detailing warranty and other information on the cars they sell.
The commission says staff inspections in Jonesboro found that eight dealers failed to display buyer's guides on almost all used cars for sale and that three dealers failed to display the guides on a significant number of used cars.
The FTC says it sent warning letters urging the 11 dealers to comply with the rule by properly displaying the guides.
The FTC did not identify those dealers in its news release.
