CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Police say a man left his 13-month-old son alone at home in Conway to go drinking at a bar in Little Rock Friday night. Now 47-year-old Joseph Garland Torian is behind bars facing charges for his actions.
Latresha Woodruff with the CPD says the child's mother called Conway Police from work saying she suspected her young son was home alone.
She reported that her boyfriend sent her a picture of the child sleeping in his bed in Conway around 9:30 pm Friday night. A couple of hours later she saw that Torian's iPad indicated that it was in the Little Rock River Market, 40 minutes away.
When she couldn't contact Torian, the mother called Conway Police and her parents. Once at the home on Highland Drive officers entered the house and found the 13-month-old crying in his crib.
Little Rock Police found Torian in a bar and arrested him.
According to detectives, Torian admitted to leaving his son alone to go to a bar in the past once when the child was only seven months old.
