UNDATED (CNN) -- The man in black is getting a new honor.
The U.S. Postal Service is putting Johnny Cash on a stamp for its new music icons series.
A USPS spokesman says Cash was a natural fit, since his music crossed country, rock and roll, as well as R and B.
The Cash forever stamp will be square and resemble a 45-record sleeve, some people may have never seen one of those.
It's based off a photo taken of Cash in 1963 as he recorded "Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash."
The stamp will be released later this year and expected to be a big seller.
