LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - An Arkansas woman is facing parental kidnapping charges out of Washington DC.
Wednesday, 6-year-old Eriona Birts was found safe in Little Rock with her mother, Ebony Anderson. Eriona was last seen in Washington DC Jan. 31 by her father.
Anderson went to the Southwest Field Services Division of the Little Rock Police Dept. and said she was told that she was a wanted person. LRPD called Washington and learned Anderson had a warrant from the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Dept. for parental kidnapping.
When LRPD couldn't find the warrant initially, Anderson was released just before 6 p.m. At 8 p.m. the warrant was sent via email to LRPD and Anderson was taken back into custody and Eriona was brought to the police station.
Eriona was placed in DHS custody in order to be taken back to Washington DC to her father who has full custody of the girl.
