BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Around 2:15 a.m. Monday, an officer noticed a truck pulling a utility trailer traveling slowly through numerous streets in a residential area.
After observing a traffic violation the officer attempted to stop the vehicle near the intersection of Alcoa Rd. and the Benton Parkway, but instead the vehicle accelerated and fled. The vehicle fled out of the city limits on Hwy 183, only to be stopped by deputies.
The two suspects were identified as Justin Brown, 23, of Little Rock and Michael Arras, 20, of Bryant. Police say the men had numerous stolen items in their vehicle and that the trailer in their possession was also stolen. The investigation found these items and the trailer had recently been stolen from residences in Benton just prior to the officer coming into contact with them.
Both Brown and Arras were charged with Residential Burglary, Breaking or Entering, Theft of Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Carrying a Weapon, and Possessing and Instrument of Crime. Arras was also charged with Fleeing. They were transported to the Saline County Detention Facility for processing without further incident.
