COLLEGE PARK, MD (CNN) -- Two students are dead and a third wounded in an apparent murder-suicide near the University of Maryland.
Police say the alleged shooter started a fire in the basement of an off-campus home, then ambushed his two roommates after they confronted him about it.
According to the Washington Post, the gunman shot and killed one roommate, then wounded the second roommate before turning the gun on himself.
His body was found in the back of the home.
The wounded student is in serious condition in the hospital.
