BOONEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service say they're investigating the shooting deaths of two bald eagles in Arkansas.
The commission says the dead eagles were found south of Booneville in Logan County in December and bring to three the number of bald eagles found shot to death in the state in recent months. The other eagle was found earlier this month near Highland in Pike County.
The Game and Fish Commission is offering a $1,000 reward and the Wildlife Service is offering $2,500 for information leading to a conviction of those responsible for killing the Logan County eagles.
Bald eagles are protected by federal laws known as the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
