CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Opening statements are set for Tuesday in the capital murder trial of a man charged in the 2010 stabbing death of a Greenbrier woman.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for 35-year-old Ronald Adrean Britton Jr. of Beebe. He's charged in the death of 26-year-old Michelle Asher.
The Log Cabin Democrat reports that Asher's family said she had been missing for about 24 hours when a family friend went to her home and found her body in the yard on Aug. 14, 2010. Authorities say she'd suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and torso.
Police arrested Britton later that day.
He has pleaded not guilty. Opening statements are scheduled for Tuesday morning in Faulkner County Circuit Court.
