LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Many people are looking for answers after receiving a tornado warning on their cell phone Monday night that turned out to be a false alarm.
Nearly half of Arkansas' 75 counties received the warning meant for just two counties.
The National Weather Service said the message went out to a much larger area than intended because the Weather Emergency Alert System, which is operated by FEMA and the FCC, malfunctioned.
FEMA is investigating the matter.
