LAS VEGAS, NV (CNN/KLAS) -- Family and friends have identified two of the three victims of a traffic crash and fiery explosion on the Vegas strip. One of the victims was an aspiring rap star. The other victim was a cab driver who had just started his morning shift.
Two innocent lives were taken in a second in a fiery crash. Friends and fellow cab drivers say Michael Bolden lost his life while just doing his job. Bolden's friend Yosef Wole says, "t' a terrible, terrible tragedy to happen to Michael. Michael should not deserve to die, you know, on job."
Yosef Wole shared a cab with Michael for the past year or so. Michael would take the 12 hour day shift and Yosef took over at night.
The pair saw each other every day for just a brief moment. Wole says, "He was so energetic, hard working guy and he always had that smile when he see me he comes with this big, big smile." Yosef says it wasn't until he got to work when he found out what had happened.
The crash and fiery explosion also claimed the passenger Michael had in his cab.
The car that slammed into them was driven by known pimp and aspiring rap artist Kenny Cherry, also known as Kenny Clutch.
His videos on YouTube show him driving on the Las Vegas strip, rapping about pimping and waving guns.
Although his friends say it's a life he tried to get away from. His cousin Dudy Irvin says, "He wasn't too much into violence, he has three kids. He just had a new baby girl that we just celebrated, you know what I mean, not only a month or two ago."
Friends and family set up a candlelight memorial in California where Kenny is from originally. His father says the family is absolutely devastated by what has happened.
Law enforcement sources in California say Cherry was arrested on gun charges several times. Meantime Vegas cab drivers were planning to hold a meter run Friday to honor victim Michael Bolden.
They want to raise money for Bolden's funeral expenses.
