Bronson Scott found in submerged vehicle

    SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - A body was found submerged in White County Thursday morning, following a prolonged search for a missing driver Wednesday night.

    According to Arkansas State Police public information officer Bill Sadler, Bronson J. Scott, 22, of Batesville, was found dead in his submerged 2011 Chevy Malibu.

    Sadler said Scott was traveling northbound on Highway 305 and failed to turn a curve. He said Scott drove off the road and struck a guardrail on a bridge and overturned several times before coming to a stop in the Little Red River.

    He added that the crash happened around 8:20 p.m., but Scott wasn't found until 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

    Weather and road conditions were clear at the time of Scott's accident, and he was wearing a seatbelt

    In addition to the White County Dive Team, the Searcy Swift Water Rescue assisted with the search. Arkansas State Police is also investigating the case.
