CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A worried mother made an emotional plea to get her missing daughter and grandson back home.

It's been five weeks since the family last saw 30-year-old Constance Hendrix and her 7-year-old son, Kamari. About two weeks ago on Feb. 12, police had a possible sighting far away from Conway as the mother and son were seen crossing the border from Mexico into Texas.

"I really need them to come home," said Darlene Hendrix. All she wants right now is her daughter Constance and her grandson Kamari back in her arms. "No idea where she might be. All I know is my heart is broken, hurting, whatever the difference we have, we can work through it."

She admitted that right before her daughter's disappearance she was upset Constance took her son out of school and threatened to call DHS.

"I think that might have put her on the run because she didn't want her son taken from her...All I've been told is she was spotted crossing the Mexican border into Texas, and it was just her and her son appeared to be OK," she said.

A Texas State Trooper apparently pulled them over, according to what Hendrix is getting from Conway Police. They said they were heading back to Arkansas.

"I can't sleep, I'm doing very little eating, and I'm broken until he comes home...She just needs, her and her little boy, need to come home and give me some kind of sign that they are alright call me or anything."

Hendrix didn't actually report her daughter and grandson missing to Conway police until this week. She said she waited because she thought her daughter just needed some space and time to cool off after her threat about DHS.

Hendrix said when Constance didn't respond to Facebook messages, wishing her a happy birthday recently, that's when she decided to report their absence.

We do have some information about the car the missing mom and son may be traveling in. Conway police said it's a white, 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser with Arkansas license plate 268 RFT.

Hendrix is described as a black female with brown eyes and black hair. She stands at 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs 276 lbs. Kamari is described as a black male with brown eyes and black hair.
