LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Crews will be re-striping pavement to maintain safety through the Interstate 430/630 (Big Rock) Interchange, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
This project is intended to maintain safe travel through the interchange by making all current pavement markings stand out from any removed markings. This will make them more visible, especially at night and during inclement weather conditions.
Workers have already replaced all raised markers. However, re-striping was delayed due to poor weather conditions. Re-striping is now scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 6th between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. The project is expected to last two days. In the event of rain or cold temperatures, work will be postponed until the next day. Affected areas include Interstate 630, Interstate 430, Shackleford Road, Financial Centre Parkway and associated ramps and merge lanes in the interchange area.
To avoid wet paint, motorists should not drive between the contractor's vehicles and a law enforcement vehicles with warning lights. Drivers are also urged to exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
