LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- More than 13,000 runners are expected to fill the capital city this weekend for one of the biggest races of the year.
The Little Rock Marathon consists of a Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K, along with the Kids Marathon.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place on Saturday at 8 a.m with the Kids Marathon starting at noon.
The Full, Half and 10K will take place on Sunday with a general start time of 8 a.m.
The start line for all races, with the exception of the Kids Marathon, is at the intersection of President Clinton Blvd. & Sherman St. The finish line is in Riverfront Park (202 E LaHarpe), behind the River Market.
Organizers say that the best way to find out what roads will be closed to traffic for runners is to download course maps.
From the Central High School Band to the Central Arkansas Roller Derby girls, there will be live entertainment scattered all along the race route, encouraging the runners on towards the finish line.
