Izard the Cat.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Meow. The kitty fever hit THV 11 again. Some employees spent part of Thursday and Friday taking care of an injured little kitten found on Izard Street in Little Rock, where our TV station is located.

When our General Manager saw the Joey lookalike limping around in a nearby parking lot, he contacted Joey's Momma/Agent to see if she could help the little guy. The team hauled out some food, water, and Larry's old crate to help trap him and get him some help. But, despite having an injured leg, the little one was pretty fast and didn't make it in the crate on Thursday.

THV 11 contacted Feline Rescue and Rehome (FuRR) to help with the task. Friday morning, we located 'Izard' in the same location as the day before. After enticing him with some tuna and a little TLC, the group got him in the crate and took him off to Pinnacle Valley Animal Hospital for some inspection and treatment.

Dr. Cole Bierbaum neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and checked him for leukemia and aids. Thankfully those tests came back negative, and we learned his leg was just injured, not broken. Izard will spend the weekend at Pinnacle Valley and then he'll be looking for a new home.

FuRR footed the bill for Izard's treatment, but this isn't completely uncommon for them. The group regularly finds cats and takes them to a clinic for vaccines and fixing. To donate to FuRR, you can do so here. To specifically help with Izard's treatment, please make a note of that in your donation.

Joey kept his friends updated on Izard's situation on his facebook page, where there are pictures and videos of the whole process.
