Mark Twain could replace the Arkansas Queen

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The city of North Little Rock is looking into leasing the Mark Twain in place of Arkansas Queen.

According to a spokesperson in the mayor's office, Legislation is coming up that would allow the city to enter into a contract with DAM Riverboat Company.

The owners of the DAM River Company include Anita Ward, former senior cruise director and boat operations manager with the Arkansas Queen; Mark Hunter, pilot of the Arkansas Queen on 2006 and 2007; and Dewayne Jones, of White Hall.

The mayor will present a contract to the city council at their meeting Thursday.
