LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Many of the news stories we report are events that have gone terribly wrong. But this is a story where everything went right.

In this morning's Brighter Side, THV 11's Alyse Eady shows you proof that family is exactly what you make it.

Seth, 3, and 14 month-old Audrey are right at home. Swinging and sliding, and playing; exactly where they belong.

But the story of how this family came to be began two years ago with their parents Evan and Rachel Bell. They say, "We knew we wanted to adopt eventually, we knew in college."

These college sweetheart's had only been married a year. But when they laid eyes on Seth, they say, "We fell in love with him and started looking at things differently -- like, maybe we're supposed to be his parents."

One child turned into two, a little girl this time, also adopted from Arkansas state foster care. She is different in her own special ways.

A young, newly-wed couple with two African American babies; their families definitely took notice. They say, "Shocked, I'd say shocked. Everyone kind of had a different opinion."

And so did others. Evan says, "They're like, are they yours? Are they really yours?" and Rachel responds, "Yes they are really mine! Thank you for asking stranger!"

Still, this newly created family says they wouldn't change a thing. They say, "We just feel like adoption is just a way that God creates families."

And while Seth and Aubrey are too young to notice they look different -- mom and dad say they already have a game-plan. They say "There's no hiding it. Someone did ask me once if we'd tell them they were adopted (and) I'm like, I bet they'll figure it out."

Rachel says, "We're just honest about it. We already talk about it whether they understand or not."

But it's easy to see this family belongs together. Rachel says, "We feel like God has just given us our children." Evan says, "It's important for them to understand where they come from, but it's also important that it doesn't matter; we're still a family, just like everybody else."

A family for Seth, a family for Audrey: The Bell Family.

Today is the two year anniversary of Seth being a member of the Bell family and we're happy to report Audrey's adoption was recently finalized.
