WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- A woman stabbed in Washington County this week credits her dog for chasing off her attacker.
KFSM reported that deputies said Lisseth Martinez was stabbed after a man knocked on her door, asking for directions. Martinez was home with her 11-month-old daughter when she said he forced his way inside.
She told police she pushed the attacker and he stabbed her; then, her Labrador, Blackie, came to her rescue.
"My black dog saw it, and it just jumped on him. The only thing that I did was grab from right here. I came in the house and put lock in it. When I opened it, I saw that I was bleeding," she recalled.
The woman is now out of the hospital and recovering. Police are still searching for her attacker.
