DREW COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - A Pine Bluff firefighter died early Thursday as the result of a car accident on his way to work.

According to an Arkansas State Police incident report, Caleb Satterlee was driving along US 425 North near the Drew and Lincoln counties line about 5:45 a.m. when the wreck happened. Satterlee, 24, reportedly lost control of his vehicle, spun around, crossed the center line, and hit an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the truck was not injured; the report states that it was raining at the time of the wreck and the roads were wet.

Satterlee was a full-time firefighter with Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services since February 2011 and was training to become a certified Hazardous Materials Technician.

"Caleb will truly be missed," Fire Chief Shauwn Howell said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife (Amy), family and friends."

Funeral arrangements for Satterlee have not been made at this time.
