LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Authorities responded to a plane crash at a small airport Monday in Faulkner County.

The single-engine plane crashed around 11:15 a.m. at the Arkavalley Airport on Hwy. 287 just outside of Springhill and south of Greenbrier in Faulkner County.

Airport manager Bill Hooten says the pilot is confirmed dead and he was the only person involved. He says the cause appears to be "failed to abort a landing."

Greenbrier Police say Charles Snyder, who is known to many as Chuck, was the pilot.

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office has handed the plane crash investigation over to the FAA.
