WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Three Washington County Sheriff's deputies were fired after accusations of inappropriate sexual conversations.
5NEWS reported that after filing a grievance complaint, the deputies' statuses have been changed from fired to suspended with pay. The accusations stem from a conversation in the jail control room after complaints from jailers.
"A lot of other violations of policy that just really confirmed in at least my mind that this was the appropriate action to take, that we just weren`t going to be able to overcome this situation," explained Sheriff Tim Helder, who also said that the situation at hand could be considered sexual harassment.
A quorum court will hear their argument but only issue an advisory ruling. The final say, however, is with the Sheriff.
