LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Twenty students were recognized Wednesday for receiving more than $2.3 million dollars in academic scholarships during North Little Rock's Academic Singing Day.

"It's very cool to sign much like an athlete does for his school. It's nice to have that kind of recognition, and to get the one little opportunity to brag about yourself just a little bit," said Justin Klucher, who decided to go to U of A.

"I'm really excited about signing today. It is a great honor to be able to do something like this and be recognized for all our achievements and the hard work. Now it all pays off," added Olivia Simm, who will be attending Hendrix.

Combined, Olivia and Justin's scholarships are worth almost $200,000, but that's not all. In North Little Rock, 136 graduating seniors received scholarships this year, totaling more than $6 million.
