SAN ANTONIO, TX (CNN) -- Texas authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the driver who chained a dog to a guardrail along the I-10 east access road in San Antonio.
Not only is the abandoned pit bull chained to the guardrail, it was padlocked to the rail with a heavy chain and weighed down with 35-pounds of barbell weights.
Animal control officials rescued the dog Sunday. Some drivers reported seeing a red Dodge Ram truck and a man in his 30's or 40's chaining the dog up.
But this story has a happy ending. Animal care rescuers say the dog is friendly and full of energy. They named him Fresno and will soon put him up for adoption.
