WHITE COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Through some controlled purchases of meth and developing informants, officer in White Count have been able to make several arrests and seizures.
According to Roger Ahlf with the Central Arkansas Drug Task Force, authorities have seized in excess of 47 pounds of methamphetamine with a street value of $2,129,100, over $200,000 in US currency, over 20 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $20,000, eight vehicles, and 21firearms.
Ahlf said during the investigation, officer found out that meth was being distributed through White, Woodruff, Lonoke, Faulkner, Craighead, and Pulaski Counties from the Dallas, Texas area, and they also found that a US postal carrier was involved.
On May 21, authorities served federal arrest warrants for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine on the following seven people:
- Chester Green, 32, of Higginson, AR,
- Timothy Johnson, 37, of Augusta, AR and a USPS mail carrier,
- Rodney Johnson, 34, Augusta, AR,
- Justin Ellis, 25, Searcy, AR,
- Sammy Neal, 37, McCrory, AR,
- Olen Defoure, 35, Bald Knob, AR, and
- Chevis Dumott Johnson, 27, Waldo, AR.
Green, Whisenhunt, and Cortez remain in federal custody. The remainder have been released, added Ahlf.
In Texas, Roxana Ramirez Whisenhunt, 35, and Jose "Cuco" Ruiz Cortez, 38, of Mexico were previously arrested.
Ahlf said additional arrests are anticipated.
