LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run case.

According to police, Douglas Lane Dickerson, 18, of Little Rock, has been arrested in the death of 15-year-old Masen Faver, who was struck from behind by a car in late May and later died of his injuries at the Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Police said they found Dickerson at home with his vehicle, preparing to make repairs to some damage on his car.

"I guess I thought I would feel differently," Favers aunt, Lisa Faver, told THV 11. "I thought it would be like a 'hooray' type of thing, but it was just an 'OK, what do you do now?'"

Faver said the news that authorities arrested Dickerson in connection with the hit-and-run death of her nephew did not bring the sense of closure she had hoped for.

"I thought when I found out the news I would have a sense of relief or a sense of closure, but I don't have that feeling," said Faver, who also feels bad for Dickerson and his family. "I just worry that whatever happens isn't going to bring Masen back, and I just want the justice system to work for him and know that whatever price he has to pay isn't going to ruin his life... I just don't feel like ruining someone else's life is going to help Masen."

Dickerson turned himself into authorities on Monday and has been charged with one count of leaving the scene of an accident and one count of tampering with evidence. Both are class D felonies.

Investigators still want to know more about Dickerson's activities in the hours and days leading up to the accident.  If you have any information please contact the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department at (501) 340-6600.
