    Remembering life of Scott Co. Sheriff Carpenter at memorial service

    WALDRON, Ark. (KTHV) - Folks from around Scott County and the state are descending on a football field to remember the life of a fallen hero.

    Today at 1 p.m., a memorial is being held for Scott County Sheriff Cody Carpenter at the Waldron High School football field.

    Carpenter died along with Game Warden Joel Campora Friday while trying to rescue two women from rising floodwaters. In total, five people lost their lives in the flooding in Scott County.

    Tuesday, people attended a visitation for Carpenter at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Waldron.

    Carpenter, who was 41, leaves behind a wife and four children.
