PIKE COUNTY, AR (KTHV) - Special agents of the Arkansas State Police and deputies with the Pike County Sheriff's Office are investigating the murders of two women and a child.
Just after 7 p.m. Saturday, authorities received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a home on Highway 301 in the community of Billstown, southwest of Delight in Pike County.
Upon arrival, police found Dana Hill, 33, and Julie Hartsfield, 54, dead at the scene. Autumn Hartsfield, 9, was wounded by gunfire and transported to a Hot Springs Hospital where she later died.
Dana Hill's husband, Timothy Allen Hill, 43, was taken into custody at the scene and is being held in connection with the murders.
THV 11 spoke with Hill's nephew who lives about 100 yards down the street. He said he heard at least six gunshots around 7 p.m. Saturday night. He also shared with THV 11 that the married couple was in the process of getting a divorce, and that they had two young boys, ages three and five.
The tight-knit community of Billstown expressed to THV 11 that they were very surprised by what happened, but no one wanted to speak on camera.
Investigators believe the shootings were the result of a domestic disturbance.
