LANCASTER TOWNSHIP, PA (CNN/WHP) -- Two teenage boys in Pennsylvania are being hailed as heroes for saving a young girl from an abduction.
Police say a 5-year-old girl was playing outside of her home near Lancaster Arms apartment in Lancaster Township when she disappeared.
Her mother called police and then a huge search effort started. Police were just about to issue an amber alert when the girl was found.
Police say two boys on bikes helped find her. They saw her in a car driven by a man. When they followed, he pushed the girl out of the car and she ran to the boys. One of the boys, Temar Buggs, says, "Soon as the guy started noticing that we were chasing them, he stopped at the end of the hill and let her out and she ran to me and said that she needed her mom and I brought her back over here to police."
Tracey Clay was soaking with sweat from running around Jennings Drive neighborhood searching only to have her granddaughter found one block and a half away. The girl's family says they are grateful. Clay says, "I met Tremar, he's the one who helped track her down and she ran to him, he's our hero."
