LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Police are looking for more information in a home invasion attempt.

Sgt. Cassandra Davis said a man tried to stop a home intruder by hitting him in the head with a glass bowl on July 8. Davis said the homeowner heard his doorbell ring several times but didn't answer it because he didn't know who was at the door and wasn't expecting anyone to come over.

She said soon after, the man heard the glass on his back door break, and when he walked to the door, he saw a person trying to get in. That's when he grabbed a glass bowl, struck the intruder in the head with it, ran to the basement, and locked the door to wait for police to arrive.

From the basement, the man said he saw a white van flee the area north on Fern Valley Lane, added Davis.

Police said they have interviewed several residents in the area, and many of them had cameras that record street traffic.

It is unknown if anything was taken from the home.

If you have any information on this incident, please call the Little Rock Police Department at (501) 371-4621.
