LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- It's the new kid on the block. The newest business in town is also a part of urban revitalization.
Stone's Throw Brewing has opened at 9th and Rock Street in downtown Little Rock. As it says on their website, "we've turned a dusty old building in Little Rock's MacArthur Park Historic District into Arkansas' newest brewery."
Ian Beard is one of four owners, who all met at a local home brew club.
"We're [even] going to have an ice cream made with our beer," Beard said.
It's called a nano-brewery. While it might not be big enough to be considered a Micro-brewery just yet, a good time is on tap.
"It's almost a cliche but the first time that you brew a beer that actually tastes good, you kind of think, 'I could do this for a living,'" Beard explains.
Stone's Throw Brewing is located in an area that's seen a lot of revitalization in recent years, and it's located at a prime spot in downtown Little Rock.
"You've got South Main a few blocks that way. You've got River Market a few blocks this way. But nothing is right here," Beard added.
A location they hope will be part of their recipe for success.
Food trucks from around Little Rock are also planned to park outside "Stone's Throw Brewing" at various times.
An official "Grand Opening" is scheduled for Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
