SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (CNN) -- Some surfers in Sydney, Australia got an up-close look at a pair of visiting whales.
The giant animals cruised right up the shallow waters of Bondi Beach. These southern right whales, known for their curiosity, were in no hurry to leave either.
Officials with the New South Wales National Parks suspect the pair were actually a couple that mated in the warmer waters north of Sydney and were traveling back south as a pair.
Tagging along for the ride was a pod of dolphins.
