JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Jacksonville Police said a man and young child were shot Aug. 6.
According to April Kiser with the Jacksonville Police Department, a man and a 6-year-old girl were found shot in the 900 block of Ruth Ann St. around 9:40 p.m. The man had received injuries to his lower back and left leg and the young girl had been shot on top of her left foot.
Police said two men-Eugene McDaniel, 21, and Dewayne Mandes McClure, 33, both of Jacksonville-walked up and fired around 15 to 16 shots total at the home; apparently the shooting stemmed from a previous argument.
In an incident report, officers said they found 14 discharged shell casing in the road and on a paved driveway in front of the home. In addition, 14 holes and gouges were found on the interior and exterior walls of the home.
Four other children were in the home at the time of the shooting.
Kiser said the male victim was flown via Med Flight to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, and the little girl was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital for treatment.
McClure was charged with five counts of terroristic acts, two counts of first-degree battery, and one count of possession of firearm by certain persons. McDaniel faces the same charges in addition to one count of aggravated assault.
Both men are expected in Jacksonville District Court on Aug. 22.
