BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - A former Maumelle assistant coach is under arrest for the third time for drug charges.
Bryant police say Brittany Burns, 36, of North Little Rock is facing several charges after allegedly making a drug deal in the parking lot of a Bryant business.
Police say Thursday they got a call about a drug deal that was about to happen in the Lowe's parking lot. When officers arrived they saw a car matching the tip's description pull into the lot and then someone complete the transaction.
Officers then moved in and arrested Burns. While they were arresting her, they noticed there were two juveniles in the car, a 9-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl. They were immediately taken away from the scene and back to the Bryant Police Dept. where their mother picked them up.
Burns is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, three counts of theft by receiving, and possession with intent to deliver meth.
She is still in custody at the Saline County Detention Center with a $5,000 bond.
This is not Burns first drug arrest. She was arrested in January 2012 for allegedly doing drugs on the Maumelle High School campus and then again for a second time in August 2012.
Deb Roush with the Pulaski County Special School District says she resigned from Maumelle High School in March 2012.
