UNDATED (USA TODAY) -- If you've been eagerly awaiting Kelly Clarkson's big October wedding in Nashville, you maybe have to stop now.
The star is going to elope.
Although Clarkson, 31, has been tweeting beautiful engagement photos - such as this one, which she shared on Tuesday - and talking a lot about plans, the original American Idol tells People.com that it has all gotten to be too much. Now, she and fiancé Brandon Blackstock are planning a more intimate event.
"We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, 'So, we change our minds and we want to elope.' We just got so overwhelmed by it - all the decisions."
She also says she's busy with her Christmas album and soon-to-be stepkids who are 12 and 6, and her music exec sweetie is "flying everywhere" with his client, Blake Shelton.
She told Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday of the wedding, "I'm so over it."
So now she has sent out an engagement photo that says, "Thank you so much for understanding, but it's just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister."
Will they maybe have a big party at least? "Our whole life is a celebration," Clarkson tells People. "That's what we kept laughing about. We don't need another day where we throw a big party."
