Families Are Special hosts 9th annual BBQ Bash

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 24, 2013) -- Families Are Special, Inc., a non profit adoption agency, will be having its 9th annual BBQ Bash today, August 24 at First United Methodist Church, 6701 JFK Blvd., North Little Rock.

    The BBQ Bash will begin at 11:00 am and will end at 2:00 pm. Tickets for the event are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for school age children (5-12), and youngsters are admitted free.

    Money raised at this event will help enable more Arkansas families of average income to adopt children out of foster care. Since FASI was started in 1993, they have helped place over 731 children in permanent, loving homes. Today there are over 560,000 children in the U.S. Foster Care system and FASI is committed to help place many more of these children in their forever families.

    The mission of FASI, an Arkansas based, private, non-profit adoption agency, is
    -- To educate Arkansas families on tasks and resources for adoption;
    -- To prepare Arkansas families to adopt waiting children; and
    -- To reduce and/or eliminate unnecessary costs and time delays in the
    adoption process.

    BBQ for the event has been donated by Corkyâ??s BBQ, Golden Corral, Jo-Joâ??s BBQ, Lindseyâ??s BBQ, Pig-N-Chick, Whole Hog Café, and Wayne and Carmen Powell. Dessert for the event has been donated by Blue Bell Creameries. There will be a live and a silent auction and THV 11's own Craig ONeill will be emceeing. They will also be raffling off a BBQ Grill.
