LITTLE ROCK, AR (THV 11) -Shane Carter, spokesperson with the Bill & Hillary Clinton National Airport, says an American Airlines MD-80 had to make an emergency landing this afternoon after experiencing engine trouble.
Flight 1111 was en route to Dallas from Charlotte when one of the engines went out and the pilot decided to make a landing in Little Rock.
Emergency crews were put on standby but the plane landed safely just after noon today. There were 135 people on board including passengers and flight crew, there were no injuries.
Mechanics are working to determine the problem and the passengers have been put on another flight.
