LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Little Rock Lacrosse League is growing in numbers. The youth lacrosse organization offers a variety of programs for young athletes to play recreationally and competitively in the Fall and Spring.

The league offers a "Scoopers" program for kindergartners through second grade for boys and girls to learn the basics of the sport. They will use small lacrosse sticks and soft balls.

There is also a youth league for both boys and girls in 3rd through 12th grade, that meets twice a week during the week for practices. These leagues play competitively against teams from around the region including Northwest Arkansas, Memphis and Oklahoma.

With this sport being so new to the state, the non-profit Lacrosse league is trying to make the sport as affordable as possible. The Little Rock Lacrosse league has several sets of pads and other equipment for players to use, while they are experimenting with the sport for their first season. The players have to sign a waiver to borrow this equipment for the season.

It's not too late to join the league for the Fall season. You can register online through September 10th and there will also be rolling registration through the season. For more information about the sport and joining the league, go to littlerocklacrosse.com.
