LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A new parking garage is being considered for downtown Little Rock.
At Tuesday's Little Rock Board of Directors meeting, members discussed a possible solution for downtown parking problems.
A location has not been named, but Little Rock City Attorney Thomas Carpenter said the building would be privately owned and, as of now, no city money would be spent on building or maintaining it.
While the idea is just in the discussion phases, some drivers think it would help with the problems they experience downtown.
"(Parking) can cause a problem whenever someone is trying to carpool and you have 5 or 6 people walking a half mile or a mile," driver Craig Freedman said. "Even it is paid parking, it wouldn't bug me to pay a little bit just to park where I would like to park."
It's not known when Little Rock Board of Directors may finalize plans on a new garage.
