HOUSTON, Texas. (KHOU/CNN) - A family night out is busted when a deputy arrives. It happened half-way through dinner at an Applebee's in the town of Katy, Texas.
The couple and their two young boys were kicked out of the restaurant by a deputy.
Eli Gau admits his two boys are, well, a handful at times. The 1-year-old and 3-year-old boys and their parents visited Applebee's on Sunday. Gau says everything seemed fine until his oldest boy began wandering away from the table.
He says the manager told him that the children were making too much noise , then called the authorities and told the entire family to leave.
"I feel disrespected," said Lillian Maliti, the children's mother. "This has never happened in my life."
KHOU reached out to Applebee's Corporate Office. A spokesperson profusely apologized for what happened and said the management team had mishandled the situation. Applebee's bills itself as a family friendly establishment.
"I feel heartbroken. I feel very sad."
But one family with small children is vowing to take their business somewhere else.
The restaurant also invited the family to come back and offered them free passes for dinner. The family said "No thanks."
