LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - There's probably a little dream in the back of every hunter's mind. ..."This day I get 'the big one.'" Well, for one hunter, he did.

The record-setting alligator measured some 13'9." Drew Baker said the adrenaline is still pumping from the catch.

THV 11's Daniel Wilkerson sat down with him Thursday.

You're taught that attitude is everything.

"Not a good attitude for a hunter to go out expecting not to get one, but they're really tough to get up on," said Baker about that gator which weighed in at 1,100 lbs. It was a record-breaker by six inches.

"Honestly," Baker said, "I thought 'I don't know what I'm going to do with this thing now that I have him.'"

This was just Baker's second alligator hunt, and he used a harpoon to do the job.

"This one being as big as he is, he just thought he was the king of the lake anyway. He wasn't going to be afraid of anybody," Baker said looking back to the moment he saw it.

Baker estimates he'll get around 400 lbs. of meat from the big catch. He also things his record won't stand for long, saying there's probably a 14-footer out there somewhere.
