UNDATED (CNN) -- The autopsy of Navy Yard killer Aaron Alexis is complete and his body has been released. That's according to the office of the chief medical examiner.
The results of the autopsy have not been released -nor the name of the person who claimed the body.
A church that has been in contact with Alexis' mother said she was out of town Wednesday, not home in Brooklyn.
It would not confirm whether she had gone to Washington to claim her son's body.
Alexis fatally shot 12 people and wounded four others in the Navy Yard shooting on September 16. Authorities revealed Wednesday the 34-year-old contractor believed he was under the control or influence of extremely low frequency electromagnetic waves.
