LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas currently ranks 49 out of 50 states in financial literacy.
This means that the average Arkansan has trouble understanding basic
financial issues, such as balancing checkbooks and credit cards.
That's why GenWealth Financial Advisors is hosting workshops all fall to teach Arkansan financial skills.
Advisors from GenWealth will partner with a UALR professor to host
the workshops beginning September 26th and running through November
THV11's Elle Mohs sat down with John Shrewsbury and Janet Walker to
discuss the upcoming workshop, 'Invest in Yourself', which will be held
Tuesday, October 1 at 7 p.m. It is geared more toward women.
"Women have special needs when it comes to money and investing," says Shrewsbury. "Often times we find that women go through a situation where they lose their husband and maybe they're not exposed to all the details of the household finances or they go through a divorce and all of sudden find themselves on their own. We want to try to help them understand more about money, more about investing."
Please register for the workshop by calling 501-653-7355 or by clicking here.
All workshops are free of charge and open to the public and will be held
at the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service building at
2301 South University in Little Rock.
