STUTTGART, Ark. (KTHV) - The Dept. of Human Services is investigating the death of a five-year-old child, which happened last week.
An incident report from the Stuttgart Police Dept. says that officers responded to the report of a child who had trouble breathing on Sept. 30. The child was located at a home on Spring Street in Stuttgart. While on the way to the home, officers were notified that an ambulance was taking the child to a hospital. Once at the hospital, medical staff told the officer that the child, Louis Alexander Johnson, had died.
The officer noted that the child appeared malnourished, to the point that his ribs were visible. Louis was also reportedly wearing dirty clothes and had an extremely soiled diaper.
The officer notified the Child Abuse Hot Line for D.H.S. to investigate. As of Oct. 7, no arrests had been made. Stuttgart police have no additional information in the case or investigation.
