ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (KTHV) - A woman has been shot in a recent officer-involved shooting.
According to Jason Watson with the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Arkadelphia Police Officesr were led on a chase around 4:30 p.m. Thursday through Arkadelphia and across the Ouachita River on Highway 51.
Once the woman lost control of her car, she stopped the vehicle and stepped out of it, said Watson, with a rifle in her hands and pointed it at officers. After refusing to put the gun down, police opened fire.
Watson added that she was taken to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock for immediate treatment, and her current condition is unknown. Her name has not been released pending investigation.
The officer who opened fire has been placed on administrative leave.
