HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in Garland County have arrested a man in the death of an 87-year-old woman who died when a vehicle hit her house during the summer.
Hot Springs police said Tuesday that 20-year-old Nickollas Roe left the scene of the Aug. 20 crash before police arrived. When officers caught up to him they administered a blood alcohol test, which registered .13 percent. The legal limit in Arkansas is 0.8 percent blood alcohol.
Roe is charged with negligent homicide for the death of Mary Duke, who was killed instantly in the accident. Roe is also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving while intoxicated.
It was unclear whether Roe had an attorney.
