HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - A man has been arrested for a murder that happened last week outside of a Hot Springs movie theater.
Hot Springs detectives arrested Michael D. Davis in connection with the shooting of Carl Anderson, which occurred Thursday night. Cpl. McCrary Means said Davis is charged with Murder of the 2nd degree and is being held at the Garland County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
The shooting happened at the Carmike Cinema, located at 909 Higdon Ferry Road. Anderson, 29, died in the hospital early Friday morning. He lived in Hot Springs but police believe he was originally from Arkadelphia.
"As I was leaving, they (police) were flashing their lights in the vehicles making sure everything was okay," said Dollar General employee Melissa Koontz, who recalled hearing 12-13 rounds of gunfire the night of the shooting.
The Hot Springs Police Department is still investigating.
Teri Tatum, the manager of EZ Money Pawn shop, which is next door to the theatre, said her store was closed when it happened.
"Most information I got was text message and phone calls asking what had happened," Tatum said.
Hot Springs Police said the theater had nothing to do with it. According to police, no one else was hurt.
