LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Helping Hands of Little Rock as well as Habitat for Humanity needed needing some extra help, and on Friday and Saturday, they got it.
THV11 partnered with local organizations and businesses as part of National Make a Difference Day. Our co-workers along with volunteers painted Helping Hands inside and out to add curb appeal, and helped out at the Habitat of Humanity site.
"It's great to have people willing to give of their time to make a place better for others," said Gayle Priddy with Helping Hands.
THV11 wants to say thank you to all of the partners who helped these two days come together.
A special thanks also goes to Maple Leaf Awning and Canvas. They donated a $2,500 awning, which will be put on the front of the building. Businesses also included in the special thanks are Home Depot for providing Glidden Paint, Wilson's Home Improvement, Knowledge Tree, and Target.
Not only did THV11 help out, but others found ways to get involved. Some raked leaves and picked up trash while others donated food to the Arkansas Food Bank.
This initiative was sponsored by THV11's parent company, Gannett. For more than 20 years, USA WEEKEND Magazine and Points of Light have joined together to sponsor Make A Difference Day, the largest national day of community service. Millions of volunteers around the world unite in a common mission to improve the lives of others.
