LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - You may have noticed a lot more facial hair this month than usual, and it's for a good reason.
Movember was created to change the face of men's health and put a fun twist on a serious issue. This month of moustaches works as a catalyst to give men the confidence to learn and talk about health more openly.
"It is Patrick's third year and my fifth year to participate in Movember. Almost two years ago, my dad, founder, president, and leader of our agency was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Even though it is not specifically a men's cancer, we found out the lack of options for treatment of certain types of cancers," said Michael Kirkpatrick, member of the Kirkpatrick Creative team. "It is my personal goal and Movember motivation to increase the awareness of men's health and to help in the funding of more cancer research. Everyone is aware of breast cancer awareness in October and pink is everywhere that month. It's time for men to get in the fight, become equally aware and grow a mo."
Kirkpatrick Creative will be posting mustache pictures on their Facebook page to show their growing and fundraising progress. Check it out here: http://on.kthv.com/1fq50ou
If you don't want to or can't grow a mustache, you can still give a monetary donation to the Movember page or team KirkpatrickCreative. That page is here: http://on.kthv.com/HM5ZnN
The team will come back to THV11 at the end of the month to talk about how they did and show of their fully grown mustaches.
